Scuola dell'Infanzia

Scuola dell'Infanzia is LDVA’s Italian-immersion Montessori based classroom for children two and a half to six years old, licensed by the Ontario Ministry as a daycare. It is recognized by the Government of Italy as an authentic Italian preschool, a unique program within Canada, with Italian as the primary language of the classroom, not a separate lesson. Montessori-trained educators guide children through a full set of Montessori materials in a bright, thoughtfully prepared environment, moving from simple to complex work as each child is ready.

The classroom is organized around the same core Montessori areas as Casa Montessori: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, and Math, moving from concrete materials toward abstract understanding of operations, fractions, decimals, and geometry. Enriched studies in art, geography, history, and science round out the day, alongside specialist classes in music and French.

Children build the same social and emotional foundation as their Casa peers, grace, courtesy, cooperation, empathy, confidence, and self-discipline, while working daily toward the concentration and independence that mark every Montessori classroom at LDVA. Graduates carry real fluency and a strong grounding in Italian language and culture forward into Lower Elementary, where Italian instruction continues.
