A Montessori morning, in plain terms
Children work individually or in small groups, choosing real, hands-on materials at their own pace, alongside classmates spanning a multi-year age range. Teachers observe closely, present new material when a child is ready, and protect uninterrupted stretches of work time so concentration can build. It’s structured, not free-for-all: every material has a purpose.
